May 2022 - SAMSON sets new standard for application of natural fertilizer with new slurry tanker series

SAMSON AGRO A/S, based in Viborg in Denmark, is launching a new slurry tanker series – SAMSON PG II Genesis. SAMSON PG II Genesis marks a new beginning for and supplements the SAMSON PG II slurry tanker that SAMSON has been producing since 2013. The new series is designed to be fitted with the largest possible low pressure tyres, and has improved implement carrying capabilities, but also builds on all the well-known features of the PG II series.

SAMSON PG II Genesis will be launched as of today for season 2022/23 in two versions, a 2-axle version – PG II 18 Genesis and PG II 20 Genesis, with approx. 18 and 20 m3 capacity respectively, and a 3-axle version – PG II 28 Genesis, PG II 31 Genesis and PG II 35 Genesis, with approx. 28, 31 and 35 m3 capacity respectively. The actual capacity depends on the options selected on the tanker.

Reduced pressure and driving damage

The PG II Genesis series features technologies and properties that are setting a new standard for efficient and accurate slurry application. The 2-axle SAMSON PG II Genesis models are designed for tyres up to 1950 mm high and 800 mm wide, and the 3-axle models for tyres up to 1850 mm high and 800 mm wide, for optimal distribution of pressure on the soil during slurry application. Tyre pressures can be easily regulated up or down when driving from one surface type to another, e.g. from road to field or depending on soil and crop type in the field, using automatic tyre pressure regulation.

This tanker series is also available with the newly developed SAMSON HPD (Hydraulic Power Drive) or the already well-known HWD (Hydraulic Wheel Drive) wheel drive. They both offer hydraulic power transmission from tractor to tanker, which provides traction on one of the slurry tanker’s axles. The wheel drive ensures maximum traction even in difficult terrain such as hilly or wet ground conditions and contributes to reduced pressure, wheel slip and driving damage in the field.

Maximum flexibility, application accuracy and comfort

In addition to the dynamic driving experience, SAMSON has also focused on the tanker's implement carrying properties during development of the PG II Genesis. In particular, axle positions and weight distribution have been important parameters in terms of allowing maximum freedom to choose the injector or boom for the slurry tanker that best suits a given application task, while maintaining good driver comfort.

“We expect to see much more for the PG II Genesis series in the future. The development has been carried out in close cooperation between the development department at SAMSON and a number of farmers and agricultural contractors, and we are therefore sure that we have a new type of tanker here capable of solving a requested task in the field and thus setting new standards for slurry application,” says Niels Haubjerg, Product Manager for Slurry Technology at SAMSON AGRO.

Application with SAMSON PG II Genesis, like PG II, is intelligently controlled with SAMSON’s SlurryMaster 8000 control unit which, in combination with the tough unloading pump and built-in flow control system, ensures efficient and accurate dosing and placement of the slurry to benefit the crop, the farmer’s yield and our shared environment.

SAMSON AGRO A/S is launching the SAMSON PG II Genesis series as of today with sales for the coming season.
